Basic Job Functions:

As a pivotal member of the Business Development Team, the Manager Technical Sales is the primary technical liaison between the Customer, Sales, Operations, Technical Services, Performance Engineering, and other groups in organization  This individual leads the Technical Sales efforts focusing on differentiation of the NovaSource service offering from its competition, service scope definition as well as supporting integration of PV assets into the Operations Center.

In addition, this role will support BD efforts through taking the lead on selling services to existing and potential customers in collaboration with the BD team.  

 

Experience:        

  • 3-5 years professional experience in a technical capacity within the power industry preferably in the utility scale solar O&M or other renewables. 
  • Proven record of accomplishment of being able to build strong external and internal relationships, business acumen and a consultative approach
  • Experience in creating and presenting technical collateral with focus on differentiation from completion and value generation
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn the high-level design and performance analysis of PV Modules, PV systems, Grid Integration, Operation and Maintenance.
  • Experience/knowledge of solar power plant operations Italian regulatory compliance as well as power plant performance analytics will be considered a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing multiple projects in parallel
  • Experience in building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in the consulting industry will also be highly regarded, as this role requires a consultative approach in the research of information and build of relations internally and externally

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in technical field
  • Master’s degree preferred

 

Required Skills/Competencies:

  • Demonstrated experience in building strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in in creating and presenting technical collateral with focus on differentiation from completion and value generation
  • Experience in leading a deal from originating through contract execution 
  • Strong presentation and written skills with ability to communicate and align across multiple regions and language barriers.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and managing key relationships within targeted customers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demeanor
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs
  • English speaking and writing skills must be proficient
  • Italian as native language

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage the strategic development and distribution of technical sales collateral focused on differentiation from competition and value generation. Present those materials at customer meetings, industry conferences as well as Webinars.
  • Manage internal and external technical education/training in support of new product launch, new market entry, and new customer acquisition
  • Lead new business development activities for targeted parties
  • Perform technical due diligence on RFPs and new project opportunities and coordinate the generation of required response documents.
  • Develop and manage initiatives to engage cross-functional ES departments in reviewing technical RFP documentation to ensure regulatory compliance, PPA and LGIA standards, CIP requirements and other technical requirements.
  • Serve as the technical liaison during the handoff process from Sales to various departments within ES.  Ensure that each functional team understands their responsibilities under the contract.
  • Serve as a representative for NovaSource Power Services with external parties including Independent Engineers, Technical Advisors, Utilities & Regulatory Authorities and other influential parties within the solar industry in helping to define and create standards for O&M services.
  • Be up to date on the technical aspects of new developments in PV and O&M industry as well as competitor activities. Develop new strategies in response to identified trends.
  • Be technically proficient with PV modules, system designs and technical performance.
  • Attend customer meetings and perform site visits for PV plant feasibility and pre-engineering phase

 

Location & Travel:

  • Role based in Italy - hybrid role partially remote with regular visits to our Offices in Montalto di Castro (VT)
  • 25%, including international
